Biographical History

Born Felix Joachimson in Germany in 1902, Jackson was a music critic and writer in 1920's Berlin, when he met Kurt Weill. They collaborated on an opera entitled Na und?, now lost, and became fast friends. Jackson moved to the United States in the late 1930's and pursued a successful career in films (most notably as the screenwriter for Destry rides again). In the 1970's he wrote an unpublished biography of Kurt Weill. He died in 1992.

Jackson, a screenwriter, playwright and novelist, was born in Germany in 1902. He came to the United States in 1937, worked as a writer and later became a television producer.
