Biographical History

Incorporated in December 1904 under the laws of the state of Washington (as the Spokane Inter-urban System), the company purposed to construct and operate a railway line from Spokane to Spring Valley, Washington, and other points in southern Washington and Idaho. The company succeeded in operating about 130 miles of main line, sidings, and spurs extending from Spokane to Palouse and from Spring Valley Junction to Colfax. It also owned several terminals and one-third interest in the Spokane Terminal Company. Property, assets, and debts were acquired by and turned over to the Spokane and Inland Empire Railroad Company in February 1908. Official disincorporation took place in June 1909.
