Biographical History
The Louisiana Health Care Campaign was a private nonprofit, grassroots coalition of citizen groups, health, education, and social service agencies, unions, religious and community organizations, and interested individuals that advocated for accessible, affordable high quality health care for all Louisianians. Marcus Carson, Patricia DeMichele, and Margaret Pereboom served as the organization's executive directors (listed in order of service). The group became inactive in 2004/2005. The Louisiana Health Care Campaign provided representatives to the Louisiana Health Care Commission, a group associated with the Louisiana Department of Insurance whose mission is to review and study the availability and affordability of health care in the state.
