Biographical History
Army officer, Boston merchant, capitalist, politician, and landowner in Maine.
Boston merchant and capitalist who was chief proprietor and developer of a controversial patent located between the Muscongus and Penobscot Rivers in Maine.
When opponents to Waldo's settlement projects questioned the validity of his title, he traveled to England in 1738 to defend his claim and engineer the ouster of Gov. Belcher, who Waldo blamed for his troubles.
