John Black (b. 1752), a tax collector in Burlington County, New Jersey, owned a large tract of land in Springfield Township. He served as a paymaster during the Revolutionary War in the New Jersey Militia. His children were Thomas (1784-1864), Mary, John (1788-1875), and Caleb.
