Milton F. Summerfelt (b. 1908, Benton Harbor, Mich.-d. Oct. 15, 1984), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1933 and, after completing pilot training, was assigned to Luke Field in Hawaii. From 1942 to 1944, he held positions in Bombardment Operations and Requirements at Army Air Force HQ; during this period he served temporarily in the China-Burma-India Theater. He next served as commanding officer, 333rd Bomb Group, on Okinawa, and later as operations officer, 316th Bomb Wing, also on Okinawa. For two years he was assigned to the Atomic Energy Office as deputy chief of staff for operations. During the mid-1950s, General Summerfelt served as deputy chief, Advance Planning Group, U.S. European Command, and deputy chief of the Military Assistance Advisory Group in Germany. He retired in 1963.
