Biographical History

The Edward B. Lindaman Center was housed in the former Whitworth College Music Building, built during WWII. The building’s renovation was made possible by a grant of $600,000 from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust in 1980.

The purpose of the Center was to offer enrichment programs to the public and to specific organizations and professions. In addition the building housed Whitworth’s Center for Economic Education. Offices of the social science division occupy the lower floor. The upper floor was devoted to seminars and conferences. The Center was dedicated on October 23, 1981.
