Biographical History

Charles H. Cummings was a manager at the Montgomery City Bus Lines when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man on December 1, 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama. Her arrest sparked the African American community of Montgomery to begin a boycott of the Montgomery bus system. The boycott was led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
