Biographical History

Francisco Antonio Barbastro was a Franciscan monk and Prelate of San Carlos de Sonora during the late 18th century.

Franciscan priest; served at Tubutama and various other missions; and was the last Father President of the Sonoran missions, 1781- 1783. Known for his 1788 Compendio, a history of the Sonoran mission activities of the Querétaro Franciscans.
