Biographical History

John A. Young was an Adjutant in the 63rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry in the Union Army during the United States Civil War. Young entered the service on October 9, 1861. He was promoted from Sergeant Company A to Sergeant Major, June 3, 1863; to Adjutant, July 1, 1863 and mustered out with regiment on August 5, 1864.
