Biographical History

George Washington Behn was one of the organizing members of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce in 1841. He was also a member of the Board of Health and served as a Captain in the Georgia Hussars from 1840-1843. In 1842 he wrote a Concise System of Instruction, Arranged and Adopted for the Volunteer Cavalry of the United States.
