Biographical History

Henry Day Ellis was a truly charitable and humble man who, as a consequence of inherited wealth, spent his life in contemplation, good works and travel. He was the first of four children of Blanche and Robert H. Ellis, a prominent Portland obstetrician and gynecologist, whose investment in paper manufacturing and mining made him wealthy.
