Biographical History

Daniel Mulford graduated from Yale College in 1806, taught for a brief time at Morristown Academy and then relocated to Georgia where he practiced law until his death in 1811.

Daniel Mulford, son of Jonathan Mulford, Jr. and Deborah Ludlow, was born in New Providence, New Jersey, in 1781. He received his early education at Morristown Academy under Samuel Whelpley, worked briefly as a shopkeeper in New York City, and entered Yale College in 1804. In 1806 Mulford graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and returned to New Jersey to teach at Morristown. He began studying law but declining health caused him to relocate to a warmer climate. In Savannah he resumed his legal education and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1809 despite continued ill-health. Daniel Mulford died of tuberculosis in New Providence, New Jersey, in 1811.

School teacher and insurance agent, of New Jersey; born June 16, 1850; lived on the family farm in New Providence, Union County, 1850-1874; was graduated from Albany Normal School, 1876; taught school near Meyersville, Morris County, 1876, in Scotch Plains, Union County, 1876-ca. 1879, and in Newark, ca. 1880-1891; worked in Newark as a general agent for Prudential Insurance Company, 1891-1895, and as director of the district agency (Day? resided in Morristown, Morris County, from 1892; died 1934.
