Biographical History

Margaret Huntington Holladay was born on February 4, 1899 in Texas to John Walker Broad and Martha E. Puriton. It appears that she had only one sister, Annie. At some point, Margaret and her family moved to California where she met and married Collis Huntington Holladay, nephew of Henry E. Huntington. The two married on April 30, 1928 in Altadena, California. Margaret and Collis had one child, a son, whom they named Collis Huntington Holladay Jr. (called "Hunt") born on July 12, 1933. Margaret was very active in the Pasadena community. She served as president of a neuro-psychiatric clinic and helped provide scholarships for students attending the California Institute of Technology. She also played an active role in researching her family's genealogy. Margaret enjoyed a long life and died on January 5, 1984 in Laguna Beach, California
