Biographical History

Born December 17, 1917, in Phihladelphia, son of Samuel and Deanna Landau; married Amalia Fattori, c. 1941 (divorced,1946); married Frances Paul, May 5, 1949

Education: Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial, 1931-36; Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art, certificate 1938.

Career: Artist, educator and illustrator of books for children and adults. Recipient of numerous commissions, numerous exhibitions. Work is represented in permanent collections of many museums and in many private collections.

Awards: Numerous, including Boys Club Junior Book Award, 1951 for The Big Sky . To Dream upon a Crown was chosen one of American Graphic Arts Children's Books 1967-68.
