Howard W. Moore (b. 1913, Farmersburg, Ind.-d. April 2, 2007), U.S. Air Force officer, enlisted in the Ohio National Guard in 1937 and was awarded pilot wings in 1941. As commander of the 67th Bombardment Squadron, 44th Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force, he led the group on the first daylight raid over Germany. He also completed a combat tour in England and North Africa. In 1945 he served as director of operations, Occupational Air Force for Austria, and later as chief, Aeronautics Section, Air Division, U.S. Forces Austria. Following a number of assignments at various bases in the U.S., General Moore became deputy commander, Ogden (Utah) Air Materiel Area, in 1965. He retired in 1966.
