Among the standing committees of the General Court, the Joint Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges, and Canals was succeeded by the Joint Committee on Bridges and the Joint Committee on Roads and Canals (Senate Journal, June 4, 1825; House Journal, June 4, 1825), which were in turn succeeded by the Joint Committee on Roads and Bridges and the Joint Committee on Railways and Canals (Senate Journal, June 2, 1828; House Journal, June 3, 1828).
