Biographical History

Founded in 1984 by Carl MaultsBy, the Rejoicensemble promotes the musical performances and compositions by African American and African Diasporic composers and musicians. The ensemble has appeared in the Harry Belafonte film "Beat Street," the Joseph Papp and Oxfam America "Lifeline to Africa" concert, and at the Caribbean Cultural Center's "Festival 1984" to name a few.
