Biographical History

Missionary, educator; born Lyndon Roth Hess January 24, 1909; attended Wheaton College, 1927-1931; under the sponsorship of the Brethren Assemblies served in Africa (1932- ) in various capacities including supervisor of the Sakeji School; named Wheaton College Alumnus of the Year, 1968; resigned from the mission field because of suspected heart problem, 1975; later returned to Zambia to resume pastoral work with the Lunda Tribe when no serious health difficulties were revealed; married Ruth Edna De Velde and had five children.
