George N. Caylor (1885-1973), a wholesale merchant and furniture maker, was active in the Socialist Party in Philadelphia and New York in the early 1900s. He was a member of the board of directors of the Rand School and served as an arbitrator on the New York State Board of Mediation.

Caylor compiled sketches of socialist and labor figures including Debs, Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, John Spargo, Frances Perkins, Jack London, Emmanuel Haldeman-Julius and Bettina Borman Wells. Caylor's other writings treat the topics of labor, socialism and racial justice. In his autobiography, If My Memory Serves Me Right, he writes of his early years in Philadelphia, the socialist movement, the single-tax community of Arden, Delaware and the Rand School, as well as of such individuals as Hillquit, Frances Perkins, Rose Schneiderman, Pauline Newman and others. Caylor also wrote a series of letters to the Orlando Sentinel on political and social issues which he then used as the basis of a seminar at Rollins College, in Florida, in 1958.

George N. Caylor (1885-1973), born George N. Cohen, was a clothing-industry businessman, labor arbitrator for the War Labor Board during World War II, socialist and the brother of labor leader and Socialist Party activist Joseph E. Cohen (1883-1950).
Joseph E. Cohen was a longtime member of the Socialist Party and a leading member of its Philadelphia organization. In the first decade of the 20th century, he lived for a time, along with his brother George, at Arden (Delaware), founded as a single-tax community, but whose members included many socialists. He was a member of the executive board of the Philadelphia local of the International Typographical Union, served in the 1930s on the Federal Advisory Council of the U.S. Employment Service, and was one of three U.S. labor delegates to 1938 conference of the International Labor Organization.
