Iota Lambda Sigma. Alpha Chapter (Pennsylvania State University)

Iota Lambda Sigma was a local honorary society in the field of industrial education founded in 1922. In 1925, the national Grand Chapter was founded on Penn State's campus with officers E.C. Youngbluth, R.L. Punnett, and Charles P. Scott and thirty members. William Penn Loomis, then Head of the Department of Industrial Education at the College was first faculty advisor; F. Theodore Struck followed and was active in the expansion of the fraternity. Iota Lambda Sigma was chartered as a national organization in 1927 and held its first national meeting in 1930. Many alumni of the Alpha Chapter of Iota Lambda Sigma originated new chapters. In the late 20th century, Iota Lambda Sigma was composed primarily of professional industrial educators who promoted excellence in America's work force through career and technical education.
