Biographical History

Mildred Fleck graduated from Macdonald Institute as a dietician with a certificate (H.E.3) in Institutional Management. She was Student Council President from 1933-1934. She married industrialist Clive Snyder and moved to Kitchener. During World War II, she taught low-cost nutrition for the gas company and trained homemakers. M. Snyder was a world traveller, mountain trekker, skier, scuba diver, glider, and a gourmet cook. Her interest in cooking took her to the Culinary Olympics to cheer on the Canadians in Frankfurt, West Germany from 1984-1996 (held every four years).

From the description of Macdonald Institute and Culinary Olympics memorabilia belonging to Mildred (Fleck) Snyder, Mac '34. 1932- 1997. (University of Guelph). WorldCat record id: 629770776
