American congressman; governor of New York.
Congressman, and governor of New York Stat, and eldest son of Rufus King; resident of Long Island.
American Congressman; Governor of New York.
U.S. Representative from New York; lawyer and farmer, of Jamaica, N.Y.; served in state assembly and senate; elected as Whig to 31st Congress (1849-1851); resumed the practice of law and then became governor of New York in 1857 and 1858; member of the peace convention of 1861 held in Washington, D.C., in an effort to devise means to prevent the impending war.
