Sir Richard Williams served on the London Race Sub-committee of the 1934 MacRobertson International Air Race.
Air Marshal Sir Richard Williams, OBE (1919), D.S.O. (1917), C.B.E. (1927) and CB (1945) was Air Member for Organization and Equipment, RAAF since 1940. From 1906-1912, he was in the Administrative and Instructional Staff (Army 1912-1916). He served in the Great War in the AIF, No. 1 Squadron AFC in Egypt from 1916-1920 and was appointed to the Royal Australian Air Force 1921. Sir Richard was appointed to the position of Coastal Command in Britain in 1939 and later as Director of Civil Aviation from 1946-1955.
