Biographical History

BIOGHIST REQUIRED Iris Owens (1929-2008) was a writer, native New Yorker, and Barnard alumna. She moved to Paris in the 1950s and began writing pornography under the pseudonym Harriet Daimler for Maurice Girodias's Olympia Press. Owens' first novel to be published under her own name, After Claude, was released by Farrar, Strauss, & Giroux in 1973 and re-issued by New York Review of Books in 2010.
