Edward Barrow worked in the front office of the New York Yankees from 1921 until 1945, after having managed other teams and leagues. For further background, refer to the finding aid.
Ed Barrow managed the Detroit Tigers (1903-1904) and the Boston Red Sox (1918-1920). Barrow is best known for his career with the New York Yankees serving as general manager (1921-1945) and later as chairman of the board. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953.
