Biographical History
Architect.
Edward Welby Pugin was a Victorian architect. His father, Augustus Welby Pugin, was one of the most esteemed architects of his era; the younger Pugin took over his father's business after the elder Pugin's untimely demise. Edward Pugin continued his father's works, including Westminster Palace, and designed and completed numerous churches and buildings. He expended himself in an expensive legal battle to prove his father's contributions to Westminster Palace were superior to those of his colleague, Charles Barry.
