Jonathan Wood was a member of the New Lebanon, NY, Shaker community. He was born on August 27, 1791 and died on July 6, 1861. The Shakers admitted him in 1808, and he signed the covenant in 1814. Jonathan served as an assistant deacon before joining New Lebanon's First family in 1819; five years later he was appointed its deacon. Wood resigned from office in 1856.
