Biographical History

Nine Partners was established in 1795 by New York Yearly Meeting and opened in 1796. By the 1850's it was in some financial trouble, but it did not close its doors until after 1862. Nine Parters was indirectly succeeded by Friends Academy at Union Springs (later Oakwood), founded 1858.
