Biographical History

Curtis Spatz was born in 1897 in Minnesota. His family moved to Hillsdale, Wyoming in 1907. His father was a farmer who also sold tractors and farm implements, and built roads. Curtis Spatz started to work with him in 1914. They built most of the tarred roads in Wyoming. Curtis Spatz spent two seasons with the Wyoming Highway Department, and upon the death of his father went to work for the Inland Construction Company in Omaha, Nebraska (1936-1955). He then founded the Spatz Heavy Construction Company, which built and repaired roads all over Wyoming. He retired in 1972.
