Greenwich Monthly Meeting was established in 1783 by Salem Quarterly Meeting. Its first business sessions were held in 1784. The Orthodox monthly meeting was discontinued in 1893; its members were transferred to Woodbury Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). The Hicksite monthly meeting was the forerunner of the current Greenwich Monthly Meeting.
