Biographical History

Prof. of Animal Physiology Ari Van Tienhoven taught an "AIDS and Society" class from 1989 to 1992. Near the end of the semester the first year the course was offered, students hosted an event at Willard Straight Hall at which the Cornell bear handed out condoms outside, and inside they had displays and public readings about AIDS. At this event, the students presented a bed sheet "banner" as a gift to the professor.

From the description of Cornell Biology and Society 451, "AIDS and Society," scrapbooks, 1989-1992. (Cornell University Library). WorldCat record id: 64036174
