Biographical History

Myrtle E. Hall was born on August 6, 1910 in Troy, N.C. She had two brother, Franklin and Elmer. She mentions her father dying in 1950. Her mother survived him but Ms Hall does not mention when she died. Ms Hall has spent all but two years of her life in Ophir, N.C. She did not return to graduate high school after having a tonsillectomy. Except for two years at Tables Road Mill, Ms Hall worked all of her adult life at Fremont Hosiery Mill, retiring at 80 years old because of knee problems. As a lifelong resident to Montgomery County, Ms Hall contributes many stories and anecdotes about the area. She died February 1, 2004.
