Claud Bethune Green was a Professor of English at Clemson University in South Carolina.

Claud Bethune Green was born on October 23, 1914 in Clayton, Georgia, the son of John Claud and Dora Mozeley Green. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Georgia in 1935 and 1938, respectively. He received a Ph.D. from Duke University in 1953. Claud Green taught at Clemson Agricultural College of South Carolina for 39 years starting in 1940 in capacities such as Professor of English, Acting Head of the Department of English, Director of Summer Sessions, Assistant Dean of the University, and Dean of Undergraduate Studies until his death in June of 1979.
