Biographical History

Milton E. Smith is the son of Joseph Fielding Smith.

Joseph Fielding Smith from 1921 to 1970 was the LDS Church Historian and was the author of over twenty-five works on the doctrines and history of the LDS Church. He served from 1910 to 1970 as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the LDS Church and was the tenth president of the LDS Church from 1970 until his death in 1972.

Milton E. Smith served as a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy from June 1945 to July 1946 and as a missionary in Argentina for the LDS Church from November 1946 to November 1949. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1951 and joined the faculty of the School of Management at Brigham Young University in 1966.
