Biographical History
Fred Jahn was born and trained in Germany as a leather worker skilled in making saddles and tooling leather. He came to the United States in 1926 and eventually went into business with Laura Lee Linder (LLL) in New York City in making high end leather goods. Linder and Jahn were bought out by Eaton Paper Corporation in 1924, and they came to Lee, Mass. where they continued their line of leather goods under Eaton's aegis. Jahn trained Arno Werner, a bookbinder, in leather tooling. Jahn died in 1983.
