He attended art school in New York City and established a studio on Central Park West upon completion of his schooling, and later a studio and showroom in the Grand Central Terminal building. He had a varied career, writing for Judge, a humor magazine in the 1920s, directing Herter Looms, a tapestry design company; designing sets for Broadway shows in the 1920s, and designing interiors for wealthy New Yorkers. From about 1933 until his death in 1961, he had a studio in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Artist and designer, born in Helena, Montana, Dahler attended art school in New York City and established a studio there.
In the 1920s he was a set designer for Broadway shows and worked for Judge, a humor magazine.
The Lewisohn sisters, Alice and Irene, were the founders of the Neighborhood Playhouse, a theater and teaching facility for dance and drama that began as part of the Henry Street Settlement on New York City's Lower East Side in 1915.
By 1920, professional actors replaced the amateur troupe of children and adults, and the Playhouse became known for its avante-garde productions. The neighborhood theater closed in 1927, but was revived the following year as The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre.
