Biographical History

John J. Nilan was a member of the original parachute battalion formed at Fort Benning in 1940-1941. He was one of the first trial judge advocates in the Airborne and was the first prosecutor of people who refused to jump. Later he became a municipal court judge in Columbus, Ga. He attended law school at the University of Georgia.
