Biographical History
PATH (Professional Association of Treatment Homes), a non-profit organization, was founded in Minneapolis in 1972 by three couples from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area – Burt and Nan Galaway, Bob and Anita Berg, and Dr. Paul and Mary Olson. The founders of PATH believed children would be better served and have greater opportunities for development in foster families rather than institutions, such as hospitals, group homes and residential treatment centers. PATH's Mission is to empower children and families to achieve lifelong successes. PATH currently has 28 offices in four states, serving approximately 2,200 children every year.
