Biographical History
Addison Dwight Skinner was born in New York around 1831. In the 1860s, he and his wife, Minerva Fox, lived in Parshallville, Michigan (now part of Hartland), where he was a carpenter. They had five children: Amelia, Annette, Ella, Howard, and Wells. Skinner joined the 8th Michigan Infantry Regiment in early 1864 and died of an illness at the Naval Academy Hospital in Annapolis, Maryland, on April 26 or 27, 1864. Wells B. Fox, Skinner's brother-in-law, was a surgeon in the same regiment.
