Biographical History

The Wyoming Controversy was a conflict between the governments of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Britain, the Continental Congress, and the Indians over land in the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania.

First comptroller of the U.S. Treasury, member of Congress from Connecticut, second speaker of the House, governor of Connecticut. His father Jonathan (1710-1785), also governor of Connecticut, changed the spelling of the family name from "Trumble" in 1766.
