Biographical History

Jean Hugard was the stage name of John Gerard Rodney Boyce, born in Towoomba, Qld. He worked in the Queensland National Bank in the 1890s and set up the Endeavour Meatworks which collapsed in 1902. Worked as Secretary of the General Hospital in Toowoomba. Professional theatrical career in America, editor and publisher of "Hugard's monthly" and author of a number of books on magic. Hugard died in America.
