Predock, Antoine

Antoine Predock was born in Lebanon, Missouri in 1936. Predock attended architecture school at the University of New Mexico, and received his Bachelor of Architecture from Columbia University. His firm, Antoine Predock Architect PC, established in 1967, is based in Albuquerque. Predock's architectural design incorporates listening to the land, and building with environmental sensitivity. He embraces all facets of the culture of a site, with a dedication to its spiritual connection. Predock is a legendary American architect whose award-winning projects in the American West testify to his highly contextual works. Predock's national awards include the American Architecture Award. Predock received the annual AIA Gold Medal (2006) which honors his significant body of work and its lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture, and is the highest honor the AIA confers on an architect. Predock is the 62nd AIA Gold Medalist, joining celebrated previous winners including Thomas Jefferson, Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Sullivan, LeCorusier, and Louis Kahn. Predock's name is chiseled into the granite Wall of Honor at AIA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
