The Appalachian Student Committee was a group of student activists at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, Va., in the early 1970s.

The committee focused on supporting grassroots organizations locally in Blacksburg, as well as throughout the Appalachian region. The committee was involved with researching topics of concern in Appalachia such as health and welfare, mining, and economic development.
