From the 1960s until her death in 2003, F.S. sat on the board or committees of nearly twenty organizations. Her husband S.S. was president and chief executive officer of Giant Eagle Markets from 1968 to 1980 and the first chairman of the Office of Economic Opportunity of Allegheny County.
