Donald Philip Graul (b. Feb. 24, 1906, Lehighton, Pennsylvania-d. April 3, 1979), Major General in the U.S. Air Force, received his commission at West Point in 1929 and began his military career with various assignments in the Signal Corps. After completing a master's degree in meteorology he was assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and later assumed command of the 226th Signal Operations Company. During World War II, he served as Signal Officer for the 8th Fighter Command in England and the 9th Bombardment Division in France, and finally as director of communications for the 8th Air Force. After the War, he had various assignments in research and development projects. In 1953 he took command of the 1808th Airways and Air Communications Service Wing, Military Air Transport Service, in Tokyo. General Graul ended his military career as deputy commander of Air Force Communications Service. He retired in April 1963.
