Charleston, S.C. plantation owner and merchant. In 1825 he married Elizabeth Heyward (1808-1877), daughter of Nathaniel Heyward (1766-1851). Charles Izard Manigault was the son of Gabriel Manigault (1758-1809) and Margaret Izard Manigault (1768-1824), and the grandson of Peter Manigault (1731-1773).
