Hugh Hollingsworth Smith was graduated from Davidson College in 1923. He attended medical school at Johns Hopkins University.
Hugh H. Smith was a doctor of public health, a staff member and assistant director of the International Health Division (1930-1951), and associate director of the Division of Medicine and Public Health (1951-1954) of The Rockefeller Foundation.
