Russell Rowland Miller (b. May 12, 1937) graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1960 and received a MBA from Columbia University in 1962. In 1970, he ran unsuccessfully as Democratic candidate for the 6th Congressional District seat, California. In 1971, he founded Russell Miller, Inc., a specialty investment banking firm for the insurance industry, and served as its Chairman until 2000. From 1995 to 2002, he was CEO of Russell Miller Advisors Asia LLC. In January 2003, he founded Spirit of Enterprise, a non-profit that supports entrepreneurship in Asia. In January 2010, he co-founded the Makarios Foundation, an investment management company.
