Biographical History

Rose Terry Cooke was born in West Hartford, Conn., graduated from the Hartford Female Seminary in 1843, and married Rollin H. Cooke in 1873. She published her poems, 1860-1886, and wrote humorous short magazine stories mainly describing New England life.
